The cartoon I chose deals with the topic brands and human rights. In the background you can see a big poster with a black athlete on it. He wears sports clothes from nike and is very happy. Next to him is written " Just do it !". In the foreground are girls or young women who are concerned with producing shoes from nike (sind damit beschäftigt schuhe von nike herzustellen?) In doing so their looks are worn out and weary. You can't see their mouth because they are covered with pieces of paper with the brand mark on it ( sie sind verdeckt mit Papierstücken mit dem markenzeichen drauf?).
The cartoonist wants to show that big brands abuse their authority to domineer over(unterdrücken) poor and young employees from developing countries. This people can't say their opinion because they need the money and in this moment the slogan "Just do it" is like an order. All in all the cartoonist wants to make the reader aware of the fact that some branded products are produced under(?) bad conditions and even produced from children. In my opinion, he's successful in his presentation because it's plain pictured but nevertheless it makes people to think (regt zu nachdenken an ?).
