Muss den comment morgen abgeben, wäre nett wenn es jemand vorher korregieren könnte.

This is going to be a comment on the question wether death penality is a necessary way of punishment in the 21. century.

Many people looking for total safty and accept the capital punishment as an alternate option to get free of murders and rapists.
It is true that the hard punishment of goverments law is a warning for potential criminals but it is also fact that many murders don't calculate the consequences of their doing.
Many of them are on the influence of drugs or on the search for money to pay for their drug addiction. This persons are sick in their mind and must get a psychological therapie and maybe they can have a normal life after 15 years prison instead of killing them.
If the goverment kills a people they swap the position with the offender which commitet a murder. They aren't better as a murder and acting as an instrument of vengeance.
Furthermore is their a high risk of killing an innocent person. Punishing a person to death row is mostly a final decision which can't be removed after initiatng the death injection.

Of course I can understand the wish for revenge by a murdered childs mother but we can't use practices from middle ages in our century.
I think that a life in prison is more effective and for most people even harder then to get killed by the law.
It's not the way of a democratic nation to retaliate in kind. It would mean to be on the same level with the offender.
We can not rape a rapist or hurt some one in the case of injury so why we should kill a murder?
