I have extended it a bit, as an example. Write your own though- you will learn so much more. Use dictionaries such as http://dict.leo.org or a paper back, to understand what I have written-if you use what I have written learn ALL the words and understand the grammar so that you could reproduce it. Even then write your own sentences and remove mine- there is no point handing in what I have written as you won't learn anything and your teacher will know you haven't written all of it (you have your own writing style and I will likely have used too many words/grammar you have may not yet covered).
Even if your a beginner, you can still write a lot. Think about- What did you do last year at Easter? What do you usually do? Why is Easter it important? What do your friends and family do? Why is it good fun? Think of some examples- largest easter egg, funniest things people have given up for lent (Faestenzeit), what people do elsewhere.... Do a google search on google.co.uk or google.com for Easter. What is the Easter Jesus story? Easter is very commercialised, is it good?
I initially wrote a longer explanation in German and a longer essay but it got deleted as I accidently refreshed the page- sorry.
Good luck.
Easter
My favourite celebration is Easter. On Easter you`re looking for Easter eggs and gifts. What I like most about Easter ist (IS nicht ist!!!) to decorate trees and shrubs with plastic Easter eggs. Its so much fun and feels a bit like Christmas with all the decorations, except with eggs instead of balls and tinsel. The Easter egg hunt is also brilliant as its both fun and the only time of the year that I can eat so much chocolate without my parent getting annoyed!!!I also love Easter because I get to have a brilliant time with my cousins/family/friends. Usually we go and visit each other and... Last year though we ...... This Easter we might.....
Easter is also full of tradition. It`s always on the Sunday after the first spring full moon. At Easter we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus who was crucified on Easter Friday. On Easter Sunday the bible tells us his tomb was found empty with his clothes neatly folded and the stone covering the entrance moved aside with Jesus later appearing to many people and his disciples. The church teaches us that through his resurrection, Jesus allows us to have our sins forgotten. That is why Easter is so important to Christians.
Easter though is celebrated by many more people, who are often not Christians. It has also very much become commercialised with Easter displays in shops and supermarkets going up immediately once the Christmas ones are down and the January sales have passed, especially in the US and the UK. I quite like it though, as it means there is so much choice of chocolate from chocolate bunnies, hens to traditional eggs- miammm! You also get to hear of mad Easter eggs such as the current largest one from Brazil that weighs 6,440kg!
