Welcome to my presentation about the Beatles
The members:
The The Beatles were a British rock band, consisting of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. As you can see, each of themwas a singer and could play the guitar. Ringo was responsible for the percussion, while Harrisons major task was the bass. Besides, Lennon and McCartney composed most of the pieces themself. The group belongs with about 1.3 milliards sold sound carriers up to now to the most successful tape of all times.

Band History:
The Beatles developed in the end of the 1950s from a row of precursor's tape around the Liverpooler schoolboy John Lennon. The 16-year-old teenager founded by the end of 1956 in Liverpool the group The Quarrymen. In 1957 the Quarrymen took up the 15-year-old Paul McCartney.
In 1958 George Harrison was taken up in the group and and two years later the drummer Ringo Starr.
The tape changed her name into "the Beatles".
With Brian Epstein, the Liverpooler manager of the sound record shop NEMS the life of the four tape members completely changed. Their wild stage appearances were civilised from now on and instead of a leather jacket Epstein existed on well-arranged suits. After a prelude in 1962 George Martin offered a record contract to the Beatles. On the 5th of October, 1962 the first official single of the Beatles in Great Britain appeared "Love Me Do".
There followed the first tours and the first Beatles album Please Please Me.
Up to February, 1967 the Beatles conquered the first place of the British hit lists with all their singles.

With her steadily rising fame the euphoric by female fans gave a hard time to the group. Public appearances became popular events, many of the concert halls could be reached only with strong police protection. « She Loves You“ rose with 1.6 millions sold copies to the British bestselling single till this day.
The Beatles managed on the 13th of October, 1963 with an appearance in the popular TV broadcasting Sunday Night At the London palladium the final breakthrough. Hundreds of screaming fans caused a traffic chaos before the theatre. The hysteria around the Beatles was new called "Beatlemania". Now in allusion on her fame they were also often called "Fab Four" (famous Four). To escape from the fans, the Beatles disguised themselves in Birmingham as policemen. In Plymouth the escape succeeded by the canal system of the town. The Beatlles became a volume of the superlatives. After a 2-week tour in the USA they booked the first 5 ranks of the hit parade; in Australia the first seven.

Because of her success the Beatles also tried to be successful in the film industry. On the 2nd of March, 1964 the shooting began under the direction of Richard Lester for the music comedy Yeah Yeah Yeah.
On the 4th of June, 1964 the Beatles went for the first time on world tour. With one of her concerts the noise level recorder of the female fans was so high during the 30-minute show that neither the spectators nor the Beatles could hear the music.
On the 12th of June, 1965 the British royal family announced that the Beatles were distinguished because of her salaries around the British export industry with the MBE order. This had an unexpected follow: Army-affiliated returned her order because they felt humiliated that a pop group received the same honouring like they.

They were one of the most important pop group ever. They have influenced nearly all genres of the pop and rock music with lasting effect.

On July 6, 1957, John Lennon, the leader of a band called the Quarry Men, met Paul McCartney at a party. Impressed by McCartney's ability to play and tune a guitar, Lennon soon asked McCartney to join the Quarry Men. McCartney accepted. Shortly after McCartney joined the group, he began to recommend an old school friend to Lennon. Lennon refused to even audition this friend because he was only 14. However Lennon finally relented, and on February 6, George Harrison became the newest member of the group.
The group went through several names. They adopted names such as the Johnny and the Moondogs, The Silver Beetles, The Beatals, The Silver Beatles, and eventually The Beatles. As well as several names, the band went through several members. In 1960, the Beatles went to Hamburg. Thinking they would get rich and famous they instead when they found dirty clubs, long hours and filthy living arrangements. They played through the night, and slept behind a movie screen in a theatre.
Toward the end of 1961, Brian Epstein, whose family owned the furniture/record store NEMS, heard about the Beatles. He said: Liverpool is full of guys like them at the time, but the Beatles had something else - charisma. By January 1962, Brian was officially their manager, putting the boys in suits, but keeping their long hair, gave them a look different from any other group around. On April 10, 1962, further bad news was forthcoming when the group heard that Stuart Sutcliffe the thirt band member had died in Hamburg of a brain haemorrhage. And also another change was in the offing before the Beatles made their Parlophone debut. Pete Best was kicked out of the group and was replaced by Ringo Starr
With Ringo at their side the Beatles went on to conquer Great Britain. The craze that they caused was nothing Britain had ever experienced. Towards the end of 1962, the Beatles broke through to the UK charts with their debut single, Love Me Do. On February 13, 1963 the Beatles appeared on UK television to promote their new single, Please Please Me, and were seen by six million viewers.
From this point, the Beatles progressed artistically and commercially with each successive record. She Loves You hit number 1, dropped down, then returned to the top seven weeks later as Beatlemania gripped the nation. More than 55-thousand screaming fans packed New York's Shea Stadium in August 1965. The noise level recorder of the female fans was so high that neither the spectators nor the Beatles could hear the music. And hundreds of others fans felt in faint. To escape from the fans, the Beatles disguised themselves as policemen. In Plymouth they escaped through the canal system of the town. Two months later, the Fab Four became Members of the Order of the British Empire, one of the highest honors bestowed in the UK, usually to military and government officials. But there was a problem: Army-affiliated returned her order because they felt humiliated that a pop group received the same honouring like they. It was at this point that the Beatles became a household name.
In November of 1963 "I Want to Hold Your Hand" became a number one hit in America. To the American teens their long hair, collarless suits, and Beatle boots were irresistible. All in all the Beatles took America by storm. On February 9, 1964 they appeared on the American television programme "The Ed Sullivan Show". The show became the highest rated show in television history until today. Their first two films, A Hard Day's Night and Help!, were another big succes.

After Bob Dylan had announced the Beatles in 1964 with the drug marihuana, the group members also to stronger drugs. In songs like She Said, She Said they processed the experience gained with LSD.
Beatles badges, dolls, chewing gum and even cans of Beatle breath showed the huge rewards that could be earned with the sale of merchandising goods.
In 1965 John Lennon felt in love with Yoko Ono and split off with his woman. John Lennon and Yoko Ono married on the 20th of March in the British consulate of Gibraltar. Instead of a honeymoon the pair resolved to demonstrate during 1 week in a hotel bed in Amsterdam for peace (Bed-in).
After being introduced to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, they travelled to Bangor for his Transcendental Meditation retreat. During the retreat, Epstein's assistant called to tell them Epstein died. The Beatles decided to oversee their life without manager.
According to a television survey John Lennon was choosen in the year 1969 beside John F. Kennedy and Mao Zedong to the most important man of decade.
Once John Lennon said: "We are more popular than Jesus now".

Disputes, disagreements and disharmony among band members had been gradually increasing, become especially apparent during the White Album recording sessions.
The band breaked up in April 1970, a month before Let It Be was released.
All four of The Beatles carried on with successful solo careers after the breakup.

On the 11th of March 1997 Queen Elisabeth II hit Paul McCartney to the knight.
It is inconceivable that any group in the future can shape and influence a generation in the same way as these four individuals.
On the 8th of December, 1980 40-year-old John Lennon was by a fanatic fan.
George Harrison said in a quotation, the Beatles would not reunite „as long as John Lennon remains dead“ ->means never.
In Apri 1990 the international astronomica union named four asteroids Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starr.

Starr and McCartney are still alive. George Harrison died 2001 in LA.
